Deep Learning 8 - Implement deep learning with a two-layer network
As I explained in Deep Learning 6, there are 5 steps in the learning process.
- Divide a dataset into training data and test data
- Select part of training data (mini-batch) randomly
- Calculate the gradient to reduce the value of the loss function
- Update weights with the gradient
- Iterate step 2, 3, and 4
Now, you can implement it. We use a two-layer network in this program and plot the accuracy by epochs.

The accuracy is enhanced as it learns. In addition, the train and test accuracy are almost the same which means there is not overfitting.
The sample code is here.
